interesting history of the brick. |

| A captivating insight into life in a Victorian forge.
You will be able to see a Blacksmith at work using traditional
tools and methods. |

Candle Making

| Learn how to make a candle from beeswax so you can take
it home and become the envy of all of your friends! |

Roman Lamp Making

| Go back to the age of the Romans and make an attractive
lamp that you will be able to take home with you. |

Iron Age House

| Be captivated by the traditional stories told around
the fire and learn about the realities of life in our reconstructed
roundhouse. |

Straw Plaiting

| Become a traditional straw plaiter in our 18th
century cottage that came from Leagrave near Luton, home to the hat
makers and dyers. |

Rag Rug Making

| Learn the methods involved in creating a rag rug like
Grandma used to make! You will be able to see wonderful examples of this craft in
the High Wycombe Toll House and the Amersham Prefab during your visit. |

1940s Washday

| For those who can remember, cast your minds back to
washing with dolly tubs and scrubbing boards before using the mangle,
a wonderful way to bring back memories. Alternatively for our younger
visitors, come and experience life without washing machines! |

Toy Making

| Make do and mend! Come and make a simple toy using everyday
things. An entertaining activity open to everyone. |

Historic Cooking

| Find out about the highs and lows of cooking over an
open fire or with a bread oven! An interesting activity that will
make you appreciate the creature comforts of your home all the more. |

Pole Lathe

| See the traditional and local custom of pole lathing
in our own Bodger's Camp. A must for all those interested in wood
turning of any description. |
