If you are aged between 10 and 12 years old then why not come and help us build a new house, clear a new area, make a new replica object or help us with the gardens.
The Young Volunteer's Club meets on the second Saturday of each month from February until November, from 1.30 pm until 4.30 pm, helping with many different jobs around the Museum.

Practical Guidance:
Under the direct supervision of the Leaders and other Museum volunteers the young volunteers will take part in activities which provide a positive impact on the work of the Museum. This work will involve the use of tools and on occasion paints and other items (full risk assessments for the activities are available at the start of each session). In order to do this work the following guidelines need to be adhered to:-
Parental Consent Form - Please complete this form as it includes emergency contact details and any particular needs of the child, including any allergies or dietary requirements. The form is kept confidential and will be carried by the Leaders to ensure that they have the information needed.
Clothing - Suitable, appropriate clothing and footwear is essential - please ensure that the children wear clothing that they do not mind getting dirty and worn in places. In the spring and autumn warm jumpers and waterproofs could be needed for a day spent largely outside. Additionally strong shoes or Wellington boots will be needed for the gravel paths and woodland trails. In hot weather please bring large-brimmed hats and sun cream. Please note that the Museum does not take responsibility for damage or loss of possessions as a result of bags being left in a Museum building.
Arrival - you should register your child at Blythe Road Pavilion (the ticket office) and a member of staff will meet you there. Museum staff will be ready to meet you at 1.30 pm. Please leave at least 5 minutes to register.
Departure - Please arrive at 4.30 pm to collect your child from Blythe Road Pavilion (the ticket office). Please also ensure that you inform the Education Office if you are to arrive late to collect your child or if someone else will be collecting your child from the session. Please ensure that your child has all of their belongings when you leave.
Behaviour - A Leader and Museum volunteers will be with the children at all times during sessions. If at any time the safety of a child or the group is compromised by the behaviour of a child the Leader will ask the child to sit quietly for a while. If, however, the behaviour of the child continues to affect their safety the child will be removed from the session and the parents will be informed.
