Corporate Volunteering

We welcome corporate volunteers from different companies in this region and can offer you a variety of different tasks, which will help to keep the site looking attractive, as well as furthering specific Museum projects. Large groups of volunteers provide a wonderful resource and often accomplish large tasks to progress our building and site projects that would take our staff and regular volunteers weeks of work!

We can accommodate groups of between 5 and 30 people per day and would be delighted to meet you to discuss what work is likely to be available at the time your company would like to visit us. We may be able to offer the following types of work, dependant upon the time of year and the progress of our projects:

  • Fence and gate removal/erection
  • Scrub clearance
  • 'Coarse gardening', eg: weeding the children's playground and around edges of buildings, digging or weeding the Iron Age House garden
  • Garden maintance in museum historic gardens
  • Woodland paths clearance/trimming/repair
  • Cleaning/preservation of domestic and rural craft artefacts
  • Cleaning of building materials, such as bricks and tiles
  • Erection and maintenance of buildings

 Museum Catering Services
You might like to consider an evening barbecue for your staff after their day of hard work as corporate volunteers at the Museum! Please let us know if you are interested in this option and the Catering Manager will be pleased to discuss dates, menus and prices with you.

Please contact, Visitor Services Officer, on 01494 871117 or email visitorcoam@btconnect.com for further information on corporate volunteering and to discuss your proposed visit to the Museum.
