Our Iron Age House becomes a hive of activity this weekend as we look at the way the Celtic family may have lived in this house. Come and help to make honey cakes on the fire, make a Celtic pot to take home and try your hand at weaving on the loom.
Activities start at 11.00 am.

Join in on the Farm - Cultivating the Fields
11 & 12 September |

Join in traditional farming activities for the seasonal farming year.
Help the farming team with preparations for the cultivation of the fields for the winter crops.
Activities may include scarecrow making, helping to prepare and explore different soils,
planting seeds and exploring traditional cultivation equipment.

Traditional Crafts
18 & 19 September |

Visit the lace maker, wheelwright and blacksmith this weekend and enjoy opportunities to try out some of the crafts on display. Before the coming of machines and the Industrial Revolution, many local families practised these rural crafts as a way of life. The straw plaiter in her cottage, the wood worker and the brick maker at Wood End will help you to learn the crafts that have shaped the history of the Chilterns.

From Sheep to Jumper - Traditional Knitting Activities
25 & 26 September |

Meet Museum volunteers and visiting craft spinners for a weekend of demonstrations and activities with a textile theme at the Museum. Try your hand at carding wool to prepare the fleece for spinning, and have a go at different types of traditional knitting and other textile techniques.
Visitors will also be able to try out some traditional building activities in Northolt Barn.
