Butter Making

Butter Making

Our Butter Making Workshop

This workshop will last for 40 minutes.

The objective of this workshop is to explore how butter was made in the past.

Children will:

  • Be given a brief tour of our dairy barn and shown the different artefacts used during butter making.
  • Children will learn how milk was obtained and stored.
  • They will learn how butter was made and used.
  • Children will then create their own butter using replica utensils.

The butter will not be made in a sterile environment so this workshop is purely to demonstrate the process; the children will not be able to eat the butter they may have made.
