Schools can now take part in Arts Awards Discover at COAM
Arts Award Discover Day: Thursday 3rd May 2018
The Arts Award is a nationally recognised qualification for children and young people aged between five and 25 years of age. There are five levels from Discover through to Gold. Discover Arts Award is an introductory Award for young people from age 5 upwards.
The Arts Award is a great way for children and young people to:
- Participate in arts activities
- Find out about artists and their work
- Learn new skills and share them
On Thursday 3rd May 2018, we will be running a special Arts Award Discover day for Schools. We will have a blacksmith demonstrating in our forge and other traditional craft demonstrations on site as well as a number of participatory creation stations. Your class will each have a copy of our Arts Award log book which will guide them to explore the Museum and the various art forms found around it.
After your visit you will then take your log books back to class to complete, before sending them back to the Museum by the 21st May 2018. Each award will then be assessed and your class’s Arts Discover Award certificates will be sent to your school.
£330 per class (up to 30 children). This includes admission to the Museum and the processing of the Arts Award. Before your visit you will be emailed a copy of the Arts Award log book and it is the school’s responsibility to distribute them to students prior to the visit. It is also the school’s responsibility to return completed log books to the Museum by the 21st May 2018, so that they can be assessed by our moderators.
All visits must be pre-booked. Spaces are limited.
Please contact 01494 875 542 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to book your school onto our discover days. Bespoke Arts Award days can be arranged for schools wishing to bring over 4 classes to the Museum.
Chiltern Open Air Museum is a big supporter of the arts and is a registered Arts Award Centre for Moderation.
