Britain at War: An Immersive Multi-period Living History Event
8 & 9 August 2026
Step back through centuries of British history as our 45-acre site comes alive with incredible living history re-enactment groups. Wander among our historic buildings and meet characters from the Medieval era, the English Civil War, the Napoleonic period, WW1 and WW2 โ all in one unforgettable weekend.
Living History Encampments
Across the Museum youโll find fascinating military and civilian camps to explore. Chat to costumed re-enactors, peek inside a wartime HQ, discover life on the home front, and visit an apothecary to learn about the surprising medicines people once relied on.
Displays and Demonstrations
Each morning at 10:45, join us in Henton Mission Room for an atmospheric WWII church service led by a US Army Chaplain โ a truly moving and memorable experience.
Throughout the day, the action continues with an exciting programme of displays. Watch warhorse training in action, including skill-at-arms and mounted combat; see gun and catapult firing demonstrations; and get up close to troop drills and training sessions.
