From Living History to Seasonal Celebrations
We host a wide range of events throughout the year, including historical re-enactments, seasonal celebrations, outdoor theatre, heritage festivals and special activity days for kids.
One of the highlights of our calendar is the Classic Vehicle Show, where the Museum fills with gleaming vintage motors, friendly owners, and plenty of nostalgia. Itโs a brilliant day out for car enthusiasts and families alike.
History fans wonโt want to miss our epic Napoleonic Weekend, complete with drills, demonstrations and the thunder of cannon fire. And for young time-travellers, our living history events offer the chance to step straight into the past โ whether thatโs joining a Viking camp, meeting Roman soldiers, or exploring everyday life in different eras through hands-on activities.
Fun Family Activities Every Day

Get creative by building your own model buildings in Northolt Barn, or slip into the life of a World War I soldier with our authentic dress-up costumes. Fancy something a little more playful? Pop on a Victorian hat and snap the perfect selfie!
Step back in time with our lovely collection of historic toys and gamesโsimple, charming fun that never gets old. Little explorers can enjoy our Family Room packed with toys, games and crafts, and our adventure playground is guaranteed to burn off plenty of energy with hours of outdoor excitement.
Heritage Crafts
Learn more about traditional crafts with our engaging demonstrations.
Our craft practitioners range from spoon carvers, lace makers, chair makers, and straw plaiters. You can also catch the blacksmith, wheelwright, leatherwork, spinning, natural dyeing, weaving and flint knapping demonstrations.
Take a look at our events calendar to see which traditional craft demonstration will be taking place during your visit.
Houses Inhabited
On selected days youโll find our volunteer costumed interpreters inhabiting some of the historic buildings on our site.
Our dedicated team of volunteers breathe life into history, creating an engaging and immersive experience for our visitors. They love talking about the history of our buildings and what life would have been like for the past occupants.
We have a volunteer sewing team who make all of the costumes for our interpreters on site. When theyโre on-site you can see and ask what theyโre up to.
