About Your Tutor: Amanda Toms

As a ceramic artist Amanda hand builds with slabs and throws on the wheel, at times using the techniques in combination. The forms she makes are one-off or made in a small series. Her inspiration comes from the landscape of the coast and the Chilterns where Amanda now lives. Sculptural boats, vases and lidded boxes feature in a lot in her work.

Amanda works as a self-employed artist (Ceramics BA Hons) and part-time tutor, exhibiting and selling her ceramic work regularly, details of current events can be found on her website.
