Willow Weaving and Sculpting Workshop

Using dried willow, you’ll explore the foundations of weaving and sculpting while crafting your own elegant dragonfly and a small obelisk. For those feeling adventurous — and if time allows — your obelisk can evolve into a unique design of your choice, from animals and fruit to abstract forms.

About Your Tutor: Gina Martin

The workshop is led by experienced willow artist Gina Martin, who has been teaching creative workshops for over 25 years. She works with participants of all ages and abilities, creating a supportive and encouraging environment where everyone can develop confidence and enjoy the creative process.

Gina studied at the prestigious Royal College of Art, where she gained an MA in Sculpture. Her strong artistic background, combined with decades of practical experience in willow weaving, ensures you’ll receive expert guidance rooted in both traditional craft and contemporary sculpture.

Course Details

Date & Time: 10:30am – 4pm (arrival from 10:15am)

Location: Chiltern Open Air Museum, Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire

Group Size: Maximum 10 participants

Price: £75 per person

Age Requirement: Participants must be 12 or over

Experience Level: No experience necessary

  • A packed lunch (Skippings Barn Café may also be open for refreshments)

  • We kindly ask that you provide a pair of secateurs and a small screwdriver. This is to ensure that you do not share tools with other participants.
