Book Readings & Author Q & A Sessions at Britain at War

Chiltern Open Air Museum is known for the detailed displays, authentic living history encounters and family friendly activities at its Britain at War event every summer. This year there will also be book readings and Q & A sessions from three authors across the Britain at War weekend of 8 & 9 August.

Maaika van der Wel, Freedom Matthews and Collette Stone will be sharing their stories with visitors in Thame Vicarage Room during the multi-period military history weekend.

About We'll Meet Again: Ordinary Lives - Extraordinary Times by Collette Stone

We’ll Meet Again follows three friends from Pinner whose lives are transformed by the Second World War. Once Guides and Rangers together, Kathleen Moth, Frances Heron and Dorothy Balmer are scattered into different forms of national service, but remain connected through a shared round-robin log book. Together, the three linked accounts celebrate female friendship, Girlguiding values and the resilience of ordinary young women during wartime Britain.
